We Recommend Ash For Texas House District 89
Newcomer Ray Ash has the business, legal and accounting smarts to make him the best choice for voters in Texas House District 89 over community volunteer Candy Noble.
Ash, a 73-year old Democrat from Murphy, would hit the ground running in Austin tackling spending and economic issues. The Vietnam veteran has private accounting and tax attorney firms. Ash has done his homework on everything from school finance to transportation issues. And his financial skills would serve his Collin County constituents well.
The seat is open because of the retirement of longtime Rep. Jodie Laubenberg.
We like Ash's focus on wanting to redesign the state's antiquated public school finance system for today's challenging student population, and the belief that the state has to contribute a bigger share. And he'd work to increase workforce readiness in schools.
We also like that Ash has experience drafting government measures; he touts his work on the committee that drafted the original city charter for Murphy in 2004. Ash says he'd focus on infrastructure and relieving traffic woes on Collin County roads.
Ash is the better choice to represent District 89
My endorsement goes out to Ray Ash for our Texas House District because he is an excellent example of the America dream. His drive and commitment to knowledge is why he was a successful former prosecutor, a tax attorney, and small business owner. Ray’s courage to serve our country and dedication as a public servant is truly inspirational to me. He is not only intelligent and hardworking, he is a person who accomplishes what he sets his mind to do. Most importantly, we can all trust Ray. He is a person who keeps his word and will work hard for our district. — David Gueta
As a former prosecutor and small business owner, Ray brings a balanced approach to criminal justice reform while expanding jobs and economic growth for ALL Texans. We need Ray representing us in Austin so ALL Texans can thrive and succeed in the Lone Star State. — Matt Lagos
Ray Ash has my endorsement because he cares about our democracy working for all of us, not just the wealthy. If he wins he promises to support the Free & Fair Elections Resolution which will ultimately get money out of politics. — Jordan Loper
Ray Ash is a man of integrity with a desire and drive to make his community the best place it can be. — Brandon Vallair
I support Ray Ash for my Texas House District because he is a moderate progressive, which is the right kind of person to represent North Texas. I like Ray because he wants to focus on real legislative issues like the economy, education and security and not social judgement issues that divide our community. I think that his qualifications are strong for a legislator. — Valerie Wright
